Inmate Escapes While On Work Release

A search is underway for an inmate officials say escaped while on work release.

Officials in Letcher County say Jamie Marcum is an inmate at the Letcher County Detention Center and was on garbage detail in Jenkins when he escaped.

Marcum was serving time for driving under the influence and driving with out a license.

Anyone with information should call the Jenkins Police Department or the Letcher County Jail.

Officials say Marcum only had about four months of jail time left to serve.
