Baby Born In The Middle Of Busy Lexington Road

An unusual delivery for a Lexington woman who couldn't make it to the hospital on time.

A woman went into labor on Tuesday morning and her husband was rushing her to the hospital, but the new baby just wouldn't wait.

The father pulled into the median on South Broadway, right in front of Bryant's Rent All. Employees say they saw the man jump out of the car and run around to the back, all the while hollering for help.

Employees say it soon became clear that his wife was in labor, so some of them, including a former nurse, rushed out to help.

Baby Gabriella was born before EMS workers could arrive. She weighs in at six pounds, seven ounces.

The new baby and her mom were taken to UK Hospital where they are both said to be in good health.

This is the third child for the couple. They say they want to thank everyone who helped them deliver their little bundle of joy.

Ok, yet again I'm amazed at these comments. Nowhere does the story say that these people are illegal immigrants. People want to jump to conclusions and be judgmental but they don't want people to judge them. This is a human interest story that is suppose to give everyone a feeling of relief that a baby was born SAFELY in a non conventional way. This story could have had a sad ending...which going by some of these idiotic comments would have made some of you happy. Pathetic.

assuming that someone is here illegally or milking the government because of their ethnicity is bigoted.

An illegal invader is an illegal invader no matter the race. Nothing has been said about race, religious affiliation, etc. No bigotry seen here. Just the desire for the rule of law and legal utilization of tax payer dollars. Happy Easter little baby....look over your shoulder if you are here illegally, parents.

What's the big deal? Babies are born everyday in a variety of places, so what makes this one news worthy? NOTHING! My own neice was born on I-75 exit 110, but she didn't make the news! So again, what's the big deal, a baby was born, so what!

Would be interesting to know, out of the rude and insensitive comments, how many of you are riding the pew on Sunday and calling yourselves "Christian". God made us all, not just those pompous white jerks who think they should decide who belongs where. Maybe pay attention next Sunday. Use your church for more than a Rolodex and business contacts.

Ok Kygal, here is the definition of bigot: "One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ." I'll let you decide. Invader babies? Anchor babies? Come on-leave the baby out of it!
