Judge: Teacher Charged With Child Porn Can't Go Home

COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A judge has denied home incarceration for
a Northern Kentucky middle school teacher charged with distributing
child pornography.
At a court hearing Wednesday, the judge said he would reconsider
letting 69-year-old James E. Chase go home when Chase's wife and
three children have found a new place to live.
Kenton County Police say they seized several computers from Chase last week, finding "hundreds of images of young children in
various positions."
Chase is a music teacher at Two Rivers Middle School in Covington and the director of the Holmes High School Chamber Choir.
School officials say he has been suspended without pay pending the case, which will now go to a grand jury. He is being held on
$20,000 bond at the Kenton County Jail.

I agree with the comment from Mom March 20th at 11:43 am. Why does his wife and children need to find somewhere else to live. Lock his sorry butt in jail where he belongs.. He doesn't deserve to be back on the streets. He's a pedophile for goodness sakes. If Leave his family alone. Haven't they suffered enough.

Yeah, that's right let him go home. According to the governor, he is a non-violent offender & the state cannot afford to lock him up! Go ahead, let him assault our children & even kill them because the government of KY doesn't care about our children anyway! They are all talk & no action when it comes to our children! They would rather protect a dog than a child! I say let this man go live with the governor since he seems to favor drug dealers/users, deadbeat parents, & thieves because they are "non-violent". Let him live with them for awhile & see if he doesn't change his mind! I bet he'll find the money to house them then! You do the crime, you ought to do the time, period! But the governor is all for the criminal & not their victims!

Don't blame every teacher with this person! The majority of teachers are there to teach the children. It sure isn't for the money. This is to Anonymous on Mar 20, 2008 at 11:05 PM. I sure do hope that if you had kids you would put them in school or learn how to use spell check!

Come on, Judge! The sexual interest in kids was the seed...the images of children on his computer were the preparation and your letting him go home is his path to action. Protect our children and keep this pervert in jail where he can't hurt some little girl or boy. As far as his wife and kids finding somewhere to go...why should she have to compound her personal turmoil by uprooting her children and herself? Please don't keep victimizing the victims, Judge.

I know a guy that was just charged with 49 counts of possession but because they thought he was distributing it becomes FEDERAL. Believe me, He would be better to go ahead and start serving his time because this guy got 12 years and didn't even dist. There is no Parole or Probation in Federal either. Time for the pervs to wake up and get a life.
