Cat Fans At The State Capital

Lawmakers don't have much time left in this year's session, but many of them wanted to get to a TV set to watch the game. The House and Senate both adjourned after just an hour and a half of considering legislation.

Many of the lawmakers were decked out in their Kentucky blue. The blue sportcoat was a popular attire item in the House chamber. While lawmakers considered a few bills, a few members of the media kept track of the game on their laptops or cell phones from press row.

In the Senate, lawmakers said it's difficult to consider tough issues like the budget when a UK game is on.

"The other day in the budget, they let us see the last few minutes of the Georgia game, of course it was so hard. It's tough to get back to work on the budget...especially after they lose I know that," says Sen. Brandon Smith, R-Hazard.
