Schools Put On Lockdown After Restaurant Robbery

Police in Richmond are looking for a man who held up a Waffle House Restaurant at the height of the morning rush on Monday.

Police say a man armed with a handgun held up the Waffle House on North Keeneland Drive at around 8:30. There were no injuries reported.

A police officer who was on patrol in that area saw the suspect leaving the restaurant, running toward Harper Square. Police used dogs to search the area, but couldn't track down the suspect.

He's described as a white man, standing 5'6 to 5'10', 180 to 200 pounds, last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans.

Police placed nearby Whitehall Elementary School, Glenn Marshall Elementary and ABC daycare on lockdown as they searched for the robber.
