Former President Clinton Makes Campaign Stops In KY

Campaign 2008 goes through the Bluegrass Tuesday with a visit from former President Bill Clinton.

He is campaigning for his wife, Hillary. Clinton made four stops while in Kentucky.

It all started Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Frankfort Convention Center on Mero Street. Thousands of people showed up to watch the former President speak in support of his wife.

After the Frankfort stop, Clinton headed to a 12:15 appearance at the American Legion building at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds.

Clinton is scheduled to visit Mason County High School at 2:30, then Morehead at 5:45.

The secret service has spent the last several days making sure the events will be secure.

In Morehead, the former president spoke at the Conference Center.

Organizers checked out the facility Monday to make sure it was safe.

All events were free and open to the public.

Kentucky's primary is set for May 20.

Chuck, you are correct. It was actually 4,417 military personnel that died during the Clinton Administration.

I worked two jobs when Clinton was in office and couldn't save a darn thing. I have gone back to working two jobs again because I have a son in college and i have more in my savings now plus I am paying for college, have a cell phone bill now plus a bill for internet cable. To say the economy was better under Clinton is laughable. I received NO tax breaks. He rode the coat tails of the dot.com boom. We need to thank Bill Gates and those guys when Clinton was Pres. They made him look good. Seriously read what Chris said in his post. If Clinton had done his job, 9-11 would never have happened. The terrorist DID NOT plan this in the 9 months Bush was in office. Anybody with common sense can figure that out. Is McCain the answer? Who knows, but I'd rather have a tax break than having taxes raised and doling out social programs such as welfare to people who can work but refuse to.

I'm a democrat, but given the choices of my party, I fear I may just have to vote republican again. I don't like the republican government, but neither to I like the choices of my party. Obama might not be a muslin, but he is not TRUST WORTHY either! I've read a newspaper article that stated he holds dual citizenship with the USA & Kenya, so which country would he be loyal to: us or them? His church is also for all for Africa & denounces the USA, again who would Obama be loyal to? I don't like Clinton either. I think we are in for higher taxes & more spending with her instead of a balanced budget! I don't like either democratic candidate because neither want ENGLISH as the national language. What are they afraid of by making ENGLISH our language, that's what the majority of us speak! Are they going to give this country away to the foreigners like Congress is already doing? We need more parties if this is the best they can offer! I'm disgusted with the choices I have for president!

Chris; He also shoplifted an ice cream cone from a Ky. D.Q., ON FILM! Most folks block out bad memories. I remember the news reports of all the terrorist attacks against the U.S. and Bill's refusal to confront the perp.s, while cutting our military to the bone. Clinton's refusal to deal with the terrorist threat served to embolden those groups and undoubtedly contributed to 9/11. There has not been ONE attack on U.S. soil since then, and I thank President Bush for that. I also thank him for cutting my tax bill, supporting the 2nd ammendment, and a host of other things the media doesn't like to talk about. I also am ammused by those who support Chillary by saying we need change. We do need a change; from the partisan backstabbing that only hurts the American people. John McCain is the only candidate with a proven record of working across party lines to do the right thing. He has a proven record of success, Chillary has not presented a single bill that has been passed.

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THOSE HERE SPEAKING HOW GOOD IT WAS UNDER BILL CLINTON'S ADMIN. DO YOU REMEMBER THE DOT.COM BUST DURING HIS LAS 3 YRS IN OFFICE. DO YOU REMEMBER HIS THREE HIGHEST TAX INCREASES ON AMERICANS IN HISTORY. DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ECONOMY FROM FEB 98 THROUGH MAY 2002, A RECESSION DUE TO HIS TAX HIKES AND OVERSPENDING ON FEDERAL WASTE PROGRAMS. DO YOU REMEMBER HIM BEING IMPEACHED BY CONGRESS AND NARROWLY ESCAPING IMEACHMENT FROM THE SENATE ONLY BECAUSE REPUBLICANS LIKE MCCONNELL SAID AMERICA DID NOT NEED THAT HUMLIATION FOR THE WORLD TO SEE. DO YOU REMEMBER THE COUNTLESS LIES HE WAS CAUGHT IN? WHAT ABOUT THE INFIDELITY WITH MONICA INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE. HIS MISMANAGEMENT OF FOREIGN POLICY, WHICH HE IGNORED DUE TO CHASING YOUNG INTERNS. DO YOU REMEMBER HIS COPPRUPTION IN BOSNIA ONLY AS A POLITICAL STUNT TO HELP AL GORE WIN IN 2000? DO YOU REMEMBER THE STOCK MARKET MAKING ALMOST ZERO GAINS UNDER HIS 8 YEARS. I DO. GAS IS HIGH DO TO GLOBAL COMPETITIN.

The only reason Hillary is in the race is because of Bill. I can't say anyone else is better but she doesn't have any experience besides being 1st lady. Just like we picked the wrong govener for Kentucky, we'll probably pick the wrong president too. Same old mistakes America; when will you ever learn?
