Former City Employees Indicted For Stealing From City

Two long-time Lexington city employees face a criminal indictment for stealing city money.

The indictment accuses former special events coordinator Becky Estep and her assistant, Debbie Jones, with taking money from the festival committee.

The indictment states the women used the money to buy clothing, popcorn and lunches, while Jones also allegedly paid for a trip to Gatlinburg.

Both women are due in court next month to answer to the indictment.
