Democrat Fischer Raises $1 million - Plus For U. S. Senate Race

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Democrat Greg Fischer has raised more than $1 million in contributions in the first 2½ months of his U.S. Senate campaign.

About half of that came from his own bank account, according to his campaign.

Just over three-quarters of the total amount came from instate contributors. His campaign says contributions more than tripled from February to March.

Fischer entered the race in mid-January and raised the contributions between then and the end of March. He is the founder and chairman of an investment firm and CEO of a company that designs and builds sports stadiums. Six other Democrats are in the race.

They are vying for the seat held by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell.

ANYONE would be better than McConnell! I'm sick of incumbents, period! I will never vote for another incumbent no matter what office they currently hold! I'm sick of life long politicans in general! If they cannot represent the working citizens, then they have no business in office! One shot at working for me is all they will get!
