Wolf Creek Dam Needs Major Repairs, Magazine Says

Southern Kentucky's Wolf Creek Dam that holds back Lake Cumberland has landed on an ominous list.

Popular Mechanic magazine lists the huge dam as one of the top ten pieces of US infrastructure that must be fixed now.

Wolf Creek Dam lands at number eight on the list.

Engineers say the limestone foundation is dissolving at an alarming rate which weakens the structure and threatens communities downstream.

The earliest possible completion date for repairs to the dam is 2012.

what do you expect from a liberal dam! Just sits there and wastes its resources. Taxing the poor tax payers downstream.
