Eastern Ky. Hospital Buys Neighbor, Eyes Expansion

RUSSELL, Ky. (AP) - An Easter Kentucky hospital has purchased a neighboring property for $2.8 million for a possible expansion of
its campus.

Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital purchased the Addington Corporate Center building and the 41 acres it sits on. Hospital officials say the property will provide room for its rapidly expanding campus.

The 188,300 square-foot building is one of two that originally housed Ashland Inc. corporate offices. The hospital already owns the other building, known now as Bellefonte Centre.

Hospital spokesman Kevin Compton said the hospital's foundation put up $1 million toward the purchase, with Bon Secours Health System paying the rest, said hospital spokesman Kevin Compton.

The hospital will spend some time reviewing its needs before deciding what to do with the building, Compton said.
