Social Worker Seeks Judicial Protection From Supervisor

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A central Kentucky-based state social worker is seeking judicial protection from officials from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Jami Hall of Jessamine County wants a restraining order against her supervisor, Grace Akers, who she says came to her home with a police officer on March 28 to deliver written reprimands.

Hall filed a "whistle-blower" lawsuit against her supervisors in November, saying they retaliated against her because she cooperated in state investigations of alleged office misconduct.

Officials with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services declined to comment on the allegations..m. on April 25.

worker for the Cabinet can be more dangerous in the office than outside of it. My supervisor is just as guilty as this one of lying and making us do those things that are marginal.

It's about time that they investigated that cabinet and that someone had the courage to blow the whistle. Good for Jami! They call it "standard practice" to visit a home with a police officer during the evening hours. Shame on them doing that to their own peers and co workers. They have used it as a scare tactic. I am glad that she is standing up for her rights.
