Robbery Suspect Arrested During Traffic Stop

Lexington Police quickly catch up with a bank robbery suspect.

The Central Bank at Man O'War and Maple Leaf was robbed just after one Saturday afternoon. Officers quickly made it to the area, but the suspect was gone.

Just before four, police spotted a car matching the getaway description traveling along New Circle Road. They stopped the car on a traffic violation
around the Woodhill intersection. Officers arrested the driver without incident.

34-year old Joe Bernard Riley is charged with first degree robbery. He's also facing a traffic violation.

    I have know Joe for years. He has never been in any kind of trouble and he is a great person. There had to be something wronge with him to make him rob a bank.

    Robs a bank at 1 and driers around town like an idiot 3hrs later and is picked up. These people get brighter everyday I wonder if god told him it was ok.
