Beshear Signs Measure To Crack Down On Sex Abuse

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear has signed into law a
bill aimed at holding teachers and other authority figures more accountable for sexual abuse.
The measure would stiffen penalties for people in positions of
authority over children if they have sexual conduct with youngsters
under 18 years old.
It also increases the statute of limitations on criminal charges for an abuse case from one to five years and increases the penalty for people who don't report abuse to authorities.
The measure takes effect this summer.

First, I agree with Ralph in Pikeville.Second, why be so "big" on passing this bill on teachers and other authority figures.I was sexually molested by my EX-stepdad,although he doesn't even deserve to be called that, over half my lifetime ago which by the way isn't a great deal, and the system REALLY let me down. The way they did in telling me how to "word" or "draw" in my case, what happened and then he got off. They couldn't guarantee it wouldn't get out,I didn't want people at school to know,so I dropped the case.It was bad enough that it happened, let alone have it all over the paper. The bad thing is that he was accused of this in the past, once with his own neice,(his brothers' daughter, the brother threatened to kill him if he ever came back around). My point is,if you have a child that says this has happened to them, and they have evidence, you have no doubt, help these kids. Not just your dear political friends. What's this saying to the kids out there,do you think this makes them feel safe?

WHY PASS LAWS THAT WON'T BE ENFORCED EXCEPT AS NEEDED FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES. UNTIL PEOPLE START BELEIVING IN GOD AND A BETTER WAY OF LIFE, YOU CAN PASS ALL THE LAWS IN THE WORLD AND PEOPLE WILL STILL BE AS IMMORAL AS EVER.
