Preventing Frosty Flowers

Temperatures may drop below freezing on Monday night. If they do, you need to take care of your new plants.

Debbie Barnes with Louis's Flower Power says one night of frost shouldn't hurt your plants. But to be on the safe side, flowers and trees that are budding should be covered with sheets.

Be sure to stay away from using plastic as a cover because Barnes says plastic transmits the cold right onto the leaves.

Barnes says bring potted plants and ferns inside for the night.
