Madison County Voters Weigh In On Wet/Dry Issue

Some voters in Madison County headed the polls on Tuesday.

Two precincts in the Richmond city limits are deciding whether to allow alcohol sales.

One of the areas is around exit 90, on the city's north side. The other, the Greenway neighborhood, includes an area bounded by the eastern bypass and the EKU campus.

Most of Richmond is already wet.

The polls close at 6:00 on Tuesday evening.

@Virgil Location: Richmond/Irvine True soem revenue would drop but only alcohol sales. As Irvine has cheaper goods than richmond in areas like FOOD. But wed also reduce the DUI and accidents on highway52 dramatically. After all nothin like having to drive 30minutes for beer after youve already drank your 12pack for the day right? Common sense would show that the closer the alcohol the least distance those that will drive drunk regardless have to drive.

Everything that folks have said above is true. Which Tuesday? Have I missed it? They sure are not promoting the vote here, and I live in this precinct. Is it a secret vote? What happens is that apparently folks in dry locales hop in their cars, and drive drunk, risking themselves and everyone else. Perhaps that is what these folks with their imaginary friend really want-if enough drunks slam into phone polls, then the rapture will begin.

@WHAT Location: IRVINE Why is there any dry places in USA after prohibition? Because some people think imaginary friends dont like you to drink unless its red wine in church.

They should honor the votes of people, instead of overiding the voter's choice!
