Man Pleads Not Guilty In Animal Abuse Case

A man charged in a southern Kentucky animal abuse case pleads not guilty.

Virgil Whitaker entered the not plea Monday in Knox County District Court.

Whitaker is accused of second degree animal cruelty after officials found a Great Dane, named Princess, being abused at his home.

When workers with the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter rescued Princess, she weighed only half of her normal weight.

Whitaker is out of jail on bond and will be back in court in June.
