Two Hurt In Head-On Crash In Jessamine County

A head-on collision in Jessamine County tonight closes down a road for hours and sends two people to the hospital.

It happened just after six Tuesday night on US 68 just past Keene Road. A witness says a woman driving a toyota crossed over the yellow line and struck and truck head-on.

Investigators say the collision happened between a 2000 GMC Pickup driven by Wallace L. Branson and a 2007 Toyota Yaris operated by Terry L. Bolger. Response units from Jessamine County Fire District were able to free both drivers. They were taken to University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment. They are listed in stable condition.

Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST, "The cause of the collision is still under investigation, however preliminary investigation indicates that one of the vehicles crossed the center line resulting in the crash."

Do you think something might finally be done about this stretch of road now - a near miss for two individuals that came very close to death. We all make human errors, that usually can be corrected with no harm to anyone or ourselves, but this stretch of road seems to have no allowance for human error, truly what will it take to correct this strech of road that so many say is dangerous! Terry, our prayers are with you and may we be able to help you on your long and horrific road to recovery. Bad things really do happen to good people.

Something needs to be done with that road, like have more police presence or something. There are too many accidents on that stretch.
