Kentucky Wesleyan College Hires New President

OWENSBORO, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Wesleyan College officials say they've hired a new president for the Methodist-based liberal arts college in western Kentucky.

The (Owensboro) Messenger-Inquirer reports that Cheryl King becomes the sixth president at the college in Owensboro.

King is an alumna of the school and has a long career in education, most recently serving as executive director of the National Commission on Adult Literacy.

Former president Anne Cairns resigned in February to pursue other higher education opportunities.
