Students at the University of Kentucky could be one step closer to paying higher tuition bills next school year.
The Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote on new tuition rates at a meeting Tuesday afternoon.
UK President Dr. Lee Todd has proposed in-state students pay 9% more next school year.
He has also proposed not to grant any pay raises for faculty and staff.
Todd has said tuition increases are necessary because the university will lose $20 million in state money under a tightened state budget.
The Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patterson Office Tower.
