UK Trustees Want 9% Tuition Hike, May Not Get It

University of Kentucky trustees want to raise tuition nine percent for the fall semester, but they may not get what they want.

The Board of Trustees met Wednesday to approve the tuition hike.

But, the president of the Council on Postsecondary Education says the yearly increases of colleges in Kentucky are getting impossible for many to afford.

President Brad Cowgill says it's the job of the council to monitor the affordability of tuition.

They plan to meet with all colleges this Friday, and have a decision on the increases by Monday.
