Firefighter Injured In Factory Fire Out Of The Hospital

A Clark County firefighter is now recovering at home from injuries he sustained while battling a fire. Captain Robert McChord was released from the hospital Monday afternoon. He was treated for smoke inhalation.

Captain McChord was one of several firefighters battling a fire Sunday at Rockwell International, which is a factory on Rockwell Road. Firefighters spent about 30 minutes putting it out. They say the fire started when a worker left a small fire unattended that quickly spread out of control.

Most of the materials that burned were plastic, which created the large amount of smoke.

I hope the firefighter recovers soon. All of us should stop to thank each one of the men and women who step onto a fire truck each day to respond to a call - they are heros!
