Governor Beshear Set To Sign Romeo's Law

A high profile bill will be signed into law Monday afternoon.

Governor Beshear will sign Romeo's Law which increases the penalties for people found guilty of abusing animals.

The bill was named after a Pulaski County dog whose owner was caught on tape choking, beating, and slamming Romeo to the ground.

Governor Beshear will also sign a bill that will make leaving the scene of an accident a felony instead of a misdemeanor. It would also toughen punishments against those convicted of hit and runs.
