Clearing The Air

Danville's city commission approved a smoking ban Monday night by a vote of 3 to 2.

It goes into effect in 60 days and will prohibit smoking in 'all' public places, including restaurants, pool halls, and bowling alleys.

Its now been several years since people were allowed to light up inside public buildings and businesses in Fayette County.

The smoking ban went into effect four years ago on Monday.

Lexington was the first Kentucky city to put such a ban in place, but more than a dozen other communities have since done the same.

Woodford County appears to be on the verge of passing a ban.

As a shopper and diner in Danville -I say "Way To Go" to the ones who voted for the smoking ban. Think about the allegies and heart conditions that people suffer from breathing second hand smoke. If the smokers want restuarants that smoke let them have separate entrances or another building for the smokers. I say let people remember the ones that voted to keep smoking in Danville and vote them out next time they run for re-election.
