Charges Likely To Be Upgraded In Teen's Death

Murder charges will likely be filed in the death of a Lexington teenager who suffered head trauma during a school fight.

15-year-old Bobby Covert fell and hit his head last month at McCallie School in Chattanooga, after being punched by another student. Covert died from head trauma last week at UK hospital.

Police initially charged a student with aggravated assault after the fight, but according to the Lexington Herald Leader, those charges will likely be upgraded.

This is a very sad situation...My prayers are with this family. But I would have to agree that a murder charge would apply here. We need to make people stand accountable for their actions ....

I think the student who did this to the poor kid should be tried as an adult. I think at that age you know exactly what you are doing and should face justice as an adult. Some prison time should open up his eyes. He should serve 20 - 30 years in prison.
