CINCINNATI (AP) - Casino developer Lakes Entertainment Inc. of
Minneapolis says its joining Myohionow.com to pursue a $600 million
casino resort in southwest Ohio.
Voters would have to approve a referendum to amend the state
constitution to permit the casino. Investors must collect 402,225
signatures to get the referendum on the November ballot.
The proposal includes a 1,500-room hotel, restaurants, retail
shops and golf course that would be built in Clinton County.
Lakes said Wednesday that the casino is expected to employ up to
5,000 people and could generate more than $200 million in tax
revenues to be shared among all 88 Ohio counties.
