Flames Destroy Home In Rockcastle County

Fire destroyed a home in southern Rockcastle County on Wednesday morning.

Neighbors saw fire coming out of the home on West Level Green Road about 7:00 and called for help.

Firefighters say the homeowner was at work when the fire happened and no one else was inside.

Neighbors say the resident was renting the house..while in the process of building another one.

"It's a total loss. We don't know what exactly caused it. Could be electric, could have been something left on in the laundry room. We don't know," said Chief Johnny Benge of the Western Rockcastle Fire Department.

Even though it appears much of the outside of the home is still intact, the fire chief says everything inside was destroyed.

My father is a fire fighter, who was on the scene at this fire. I am very upset that the Mayor of the city would be so disrespectful to put their lives in danger. My father does this because he wants to and for her to risk his life is uncalled for. Concerned Daughter in Indiana

Global warming strikes once more. UN scientists estimate up to 40% of all homes in the northern hemispere are on verge of spontaneous combustion due to the drying effects of the tremendous rise in world temperatures. 90% of all homes in the southern hemisphere have already burned and billions of people are living in tents and old metal gymnasium lockers. Also new UN report states the Brazilian Rainforests have burned down today and none of the native Peruvian Polar Bears can be accounted for. They appear to be toast.
