Rash of Car Break-Ins

A central Kentucky neighborhood is on guard as police investigate a rash of car break-ins.

Nearly a dozen people in Garrard County say thieves hit their cars this weekend stealing valuable equipment inside.

Residents in the Hideaway Cave neighborhood near Harrington Lake say Friday night into Saturday morning at least a dozen cars were broken into.

The thieves stole electronics like iPods, camcorders, and cell phones from the vehicles.

Police think kids may be responsible for the crime, but are still investigating. Residents say they will be locking all their doors and leaving outdoor lights on.

Many people say the same area had a rash of home break-ins just a few years ago.

shooting someone will solve all your problems just like the guy who shot blindly through his front door and killed the guy who went to the wrong house. MORON!

You know, I noticed my car had a rash after someone broke into it. I hope it's not contagious.

They are just lucky they haven't woke anyone up. My house and cars are protected by Smith & Wesson. I live by the assumption that anyone who is willing to steal my property is also willing to do bodily harm to me as well. Therefore, it wouldn't be a wise choice to come here-they would be leaving in a body bag.
