Former Scott County Basketball Star Ordered To Go To Jail

A former Scott County high school basketball star, already facing drug charges, finds himself in more legal trouble.

Bud Mackey had been out on bond, since being arrested last fall.

That's when police say he brought cocaine onto the Scott County High School campus.

But according to court documents, Mackey wasn't showing up for classes at Harmony Community School in Cincinnati.

He was ordered to attend school, and live with family, as part of the bond agreement.

The Commonwealth Attorney claimed Mackey is doing neither.

So Monday, the judge found Mackey in contempt of court. He sentenced him to 60 days behind bars.

Mackey is still awaiting trial on the original drug trafficking charge from his arrest at school last fall.

It is so easy for kids to get drugs these days..seems like on every corner, someone is pushing them. It breaks my heart that so many are destroying their lives. Seems like something could be done with these drug dealers besides hiring them as narcs and giving them a license to deal. This boy had so much going for him. It isn't a funny situation. Too many of our children are getting involved with drugs. That is a life sentence in itself.

This kid was given more chances than any other kid would have been given because he is a basketball player. ANY NORMAL 18yo would have been locked up.

Hmmmmm...I wonder if his supporters will call this a young person making a mistake like when he got caught carrying drugs...LOL! Rehab? No way, he had his chance.
