Lumber Truck Accident Closes Portion Of Bluegrass Parkway

An overturned semi carrying lumber caused problems on the Bluegrass Parkway early Tuesday morning in Woodford County.

The truck's driver says he noticed his trailer drifting into the median while driving in the eastbound lanes shortly before 4:00 a.m. The driver says he kept going, but lost control.

His truck flipped, spilling its entire load of lumber in the median.

Workers closed the left-hand eastbound lane of the Bluegrass Parkway for hours early Tuesday to clean up the mess.

The truck's driver suffered minor cuts and bruises.

No other vehicles were involved.
