Man Rescued After Truck Ends Up In Creek

A Central Kentucky man took a wrong turn and ended up in a creek in Jessamine County late Thursday night, which led to a lengthy rescue.

It happened on Mackey Pike near Union Mill Road.

27 NEWSFIRST was the only station there for the rescue.

Police say a man driving a truck tried to get over for another vehicle on Mackey Pike, which is a one-lane road.

He ended up in a creek bed.

As water rushed toward the top of his truck, the man climbed to the roof of the truck to get to safety as he called 911.

Firefighters spent about one hour rescuing the man with ropes.

The driver wasn't injured.
