A frightening morning for a group of Wolfe County students after their bus is hit on the way to school.

A spokesman for the school district says a bus full of students collided with a car on Profit Fork Road off KY-15 near Campton.

One student was injured and had to be taken to the hospital to be checked out. The other students were picked up by another school bus and taken to school to be evaluated.

Luckily officials say no one was seriously hurt.

Clearly, Anonymous, you are much better educated than I since your comment is completly bereft of capitalization, and appropriate punctuation. You need, however, to realize that anything that is going to cost the Commonwealth a great deal of money is not going to be implemented until many lives are lost. As to the students being hung by the belts, that is very unlikely. Better to be suspended upside down than crumpled in a heap on the ceiling of the bus when it overturns. Look at video taken on buses that turn and you will see children flying all over the bus. I cringe, and pray diligently, when my children get onto a school bus for a trip.

why do people in situations like this have to give negative feed back if the comonwealth of ky. felt like we needed seat belts then they would be on there,

i am a Wolfe county student and i have road the buss for many years and i can i am lucky because i have not been in a bus accident most of the roads the buses have to go down are two small and narrow. and when they are met by another automobile on the road it makes the situation even worse and more dangerous. but i am glad we have responsible drivers what know what to do in any situation such as todays crash.

I had pondered the seat belt on school buses idea as well until a driver explained to me that most bus crashes will leave the bus turned on its side and upside down. If a child is strapped in a seat belt, they will be hung. At least, that's what I was told.

If a child is in a car and not buckled in a seat belt, there is a penalty to whomever is operating the vehicle. Why will states not require seatbelts on school buses? I know it would be a great expensive but nothing compared to the life of one child killed because of lack of protection while being transported to and from school. My vehicle does not get put into gear until both of my children are buckled in, it only make good sense to mandate the same level of safety on school buses.
