A Breathitt County woman is dead after a crash on New Circle Road Saturday afternoon.

The wreck happened around 3 P.M. near Old Frankfort Pike. Police say James Morris' motorcycle swerved into a guardrail throwing him and his wife, Bobbi from the bike. Bobbi Morris landed several yards away from the bike and died on the scene. According to police, James Morris was seriously injured. He is at UK Hospital, listed in critical condition. The couple is from Jackson.

The crash shutdown New Circle Road for several hours, tying up traffic while accident reconstruction crews worked to clear the scene. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Mary, Sorry if I offended you...I in no way meant it to sound like Bobbi wasn't wearing a helmet. I was just referring to the fact that motorcyclists are NOT required to wear a helmet and that needs to be changed.

I just want the family to know how terrible I feel about this. We were in the 3rd car behind the wreck and we saw it happen. We started praying instantly. See, 15 years next month we had a daughter get killed in a car accident, and when we seen this horrific accident, we actually relived her accident. I have tried every way to find out where they live so I can send a sympathy card to the family. When our daughter died we got cards from people we didn't even know, but it was a great comfort to know that people cared.I pray that Mr. Morris will be ok and I want the family to know that I feel a connection to them. May God Bless the family and bring Mr. Morris home soon. You will always be in my prayers.

Why take it off?.... That was a comment that was left earlier... mabye it's because the family DOESN'T want to keep reviewing such a horrible accicent over and over again. A "tremendous" action that could take place would be to respect the family & take this on the site.

For anonymous...just to inform you that Bobbi DID have a helmet on. She was always the best at everything she did and she was a wonderful person and wonderful mother and followed the rules of the road no matter what she rode in.
