LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It's going to be a snowy weekend across Kentucky, with several inches of snow in the forecast for some areas.
"Two systems will dive in from the northwest for Saturday and Sunday, and both will deliver accumulating snows," WKYT Chief Meteorologist Chris Bailey said.
Bailey predicts snowfall totals by Sunday night will be between 2 and 4 inches for the Lexington area, with as much as 6 inches possible for the highest elevations of southeastern Kentucky.
Snowfall totals are expected to be lower west of Lexington.
According to city leaders, Lexington Streets and Roads are now in a 24-hour operation. Crews will work continuous 12-hour shifts through Sunday.
