The "Bike Lexington" 3-day event will kick off this weekend in Lexington. Avenue of Champions and Euclid Avenue will be blocked off from 6-10 p.m. Friday evening for the event.

Nearly 300 riders, amateur and professional, will be participating in the event. Ages 10 years old and up are encouraged to participate.

The exclusive event is sponsored by McDonald's Cycling Team and will feature specially-made bikes that are to be featured in the Tour De France. Many of these bikes will reach speeds upwards of 30 mph.

A raffle will be held as well at the event. All proceeds go towards the Ronald McDonald House.

The event will also be held on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m., in front of the Courthouse Plaza and on Sunday at Coldstream.
