First responders across eastern Kentucky will soon receive millions of dollars in grants.

U.S. Representative Hal Rogers announced nearly five million dollars will go to several emergency management agencies across the mountains.

He says it's what they need to continue to keep all of us safe.

The money will be distributed through U.S. Department of Homeland Security Emergency Management Performance Grants.
