Trial Postponed For Man Accused Of Shooting Woman

A Lincoln County man accused of shooting a woman then leading police on a chase was scheduled to go on trial Monday, but that trial was postponed.

Sharon Dale Greer is charged with assault and wanton endangerment.

In January, police say he shot Sandra Mullins, then took off. Police searched for him for several hours, even locking down Highland Elementary during that search.

Police say he shot himself in the head when they closed in on him. Greer survived that injury.

The Lincoln Circuit Clerk's office says instead of the start of the trial, a pre-trial conference has been set for May 27th, at which time a new trial date is expected to be set.

The reason for the postponement is unknown at this time.

I hope the county don't let him off. This is one of the worst counties in the state as far as solving murder cases ect.It seems that if you know the right people you can get away with anything. My dad was murdered 24 years ago and to this day NOTHING has been done. The ones involved that pulled the trigger and that helped cover it up are slowly dying off. I wanted to see justice here on earth. Guess I will have to wait until judgment day.
