There are several laws on the books in Kentucky that concern primary elections.
Kentucky has a closed primary. That means democrats can only vote for democrats, and republicans for republicans.
Independents can not take part in a presidential primary, but they can vote in non-partisan races.
And while the polls are open in Kentucky today, you are not able to buy alcohol.
Kentucky is one of the few states still banning liquor sales in bars and retail stores while voting is going on. Once the polls close Tuesday night at six, alcohol sales can resume.
