Repo Man Pleads Guilty To Taking Truck With Kids Inside

There was a guilty plea Tuesday from a Jessamine County man, accused of repossessing a truck with three children still inside.

As part of a plea deal, David Mahaffey received two years probation and a 250 dollar fine for second degree unlawful imprisonment.

Last month, Nicholasville police say Mahaffey took the truck, even though the children inside screamed for him to stop. At the time, he said he had no idea they were inside.

Well, if the mother didn't know the kids were in the car unattended, then that's a crime, too. WATCH YOUR CHILDREN! How hard is it? Don't have them if you aren't willing to protect them.

Where does it say anywhere in the article that the MOTHER put the children in the truck? Why are we taking our focus from what Mr. MaHaffey did?

Good question RS, where were the parents and why weren't they charged with anything? I also agree with GB, pretty light sentence for kidnapping, and you can't tell me if those kids were screaming at him, he didn't know there were in the truck. Total B-S!

Thats a good question!!! WILL the lady be charged with any type of crime for leaving those children in the vehicle alone??? People, People, People, What does it take for some people to understand what type world we live in here!!! In someways who knows, now I'm not upholding the guy but, he may have saved those kids from some other person that was out looking to kidnap a child that day, I mean really, who knows any more, I would thank GOD it was just the repo man!!!

What a small sentence for a person who traumatized children!!! Even though he was repossesing the vehicle and it may have been rightfully his, I consider that kidnapping when those children were taken against their will! What about some community service? Maybe a fine that had to be paid to a children's charity?!?!? I consider his penatly a slap on the wrist.
