Victim Injured During Violent Home Invasion

A Frankfort man was injured during a violent home invasion early Wednesday morning.

It happened at Prince Hall Apartments off Myrtle Avenue at around 1:15 am.

Police say the victim, 31-year-old David Pierce, reported that a masked man knocked on his door, aimed a shotgun at him and threatened to kill him.

Pierce says the man forced his way inside the apartment, but Pierce says at that point, he rushed the gunman and grabbed the shotgun.

Police say during the struggle the gun went off and the shot hit the ceiling.

Police say Pierce was eventually able to get out of the apartment. He suffered minor injuries to the face and hands.

So far, there have been no arrests. If you have any information, call Frankfort Police at (502) 875-8523.

Once again, it would be stellar if we could get a description of the assailant.

@David Location: Russell Springs You still answer your door after 11pm? Who ever needs me has either a key or both my numbers. You knock on my door after 11 and Im waiting inside with a 12gauge and 8rds of buckshot. Forget about answering the door.

I am probably going to catch some slack over this but oh well, If someone knocks on my door at that time in the morning , I answer it with gun in hand , one in the chamber , 14 more in the clip and the safety off, If more people did that, there would be a LOT LESS CRIME, Ask any thief, If they know the home owner has a gun , they dont try because they are afraid they will get shot..

Sounds like a good 357 could have prevented this. Then the hoodlums would have something to whine and cry about. It would sure make fools think twice about breaking in if we gave them a good dose of lead poison.I know i would [and will]if some idiot tried to break in on my family.Wish the guy well. And we wonder why people are getting shot over theses things?
