Search Continues For Missing Eastern Ky. Man

The search continues for a Floyd County man who hasn't been seen in several days.

Family members say 62-year-old Sampie Sparkman left his nephew's home nearly a week ago. He was going to see his daughter in Somerset, but his family says he never made it.

According to police, Sparkman was last seen at a gas station near the Knott/Perry County line.

He was driving a Chevy S-10, extended cab, black truck, with a Kentucky license plate of 897HRG.

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. I enjoyed taking with Sampie when his cousins who are my uncles passed away and Sampie was wonderful enough to come to both of their services. I hope he is found safe and sound. God Bless You!

This is my uncle also. I posted a description of him on this site around 11:00 today thinking these comments would remain for at least a few days. I was hoping the extra information I gave in my posting would be helpful in finding him, so I'll give another brief description. He was wearing a purple shirt, dark blue denim pants, brown shoes, and a red and black checkered jacket. He wears a hearing aid and has a mild speech impediment. He's about 5'9" and weighs around 155-160 pounds. For a picture of him, you can look at the WKYT video clips. We need everyone out there to keep an eye out for him or his truck. If you have any information at all that could help us find him, please contact the State Police post in Pikeville. Everyone who believes in prayer, please pray for him and for us, his family. That's all we have right now to help us get through this tragic time.

This is my uncle. Please if anyone out there knows or might know of his whereabouts please let the police know. The family just lost a sister a few months ago and we have lost enough. So please let us know something or anything.
