It was a special homecoming for a unit of Kentucky soldiers as they returned home.
The 478th Combat Engineer Battalion returned home Thursday afternoon.
Seventy soldiers are from Ashland; the rest of the battalion was greeted in Fort Thomas.
This was the battalion's second tour in Iraq. They left nearly a year ago.
Their mission was to clear road-side bombs.
They say they depended on each other to survive.
While in Iraq, the unit found and disabled more than 160 roadside bombs.
