State Police Step Up Patrols For Holiday Weekend

If you plan to hit the road this holiday weekend, you will have plenty of company.

More Kentucky State Police troopers will also be on the road beginning Friday night.

KSP says they will increase traffic safety efforts beginning at 6pm Friday night until Memorial Day ends Monday night.

Troopers will be looking for drivers speeding, not wearing seat belts and those under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Police say eight people died during last year's Memorial Day holiday weekend.

What is it with you people and 4 wheelers...just because a person is on one doesn't always mean they are drunk or doing something illegal. They will always be a few dummies that do these things and end up hurt or killed, but the same goes for people in cars.
