Murder Investigation In Richmond

Richmond Police were called to a home on North Street near downtown Friday afternoon to check on Debra Harrison. She hadn't been seen or heard from for several days and mail was starting to pile up on the front porch. Harrison's friends were worried about her and called the police.

When police entered the home, they found Harrison badly beaten and dead on her bedroom floor. Police do not think anyone broke into the house. They spent eight hours gathering evidence at the scene.

An autopsy was performed on Harrison's body and results are expected back in the next few days. The coroner has not released her exact cause of death.

This is Richmond's first murder of 2008.

I'll never understand the violence in people. I didn't know Debra but she sure didn't deserve to be beaten to death in her own home. My condolences go out to her family. It's so sad to know were not safe in our own homes anymore because there's just too many criminals out there that don't care how much they hurt or kill people. I hope she's in a better place now, Rest in peace Debra.

Why in the world are you griping about polititcal issues on a space dedicated to the death a woman? If you're going to gripe, go to the right place. You should be glad you're alive.

Debra Harrison was found beaten to death. I did not know her, but I know that she deserves more respect than having someone rant about the election here. I hope they find out who did this to her and I hope people that want to comment on the election do it in appropriate places (i.e. an "political" story)

I think Mrs. Clinton should stay and fight . I'm not preduise I dont care What Mr Obama's religous belives are thats not all of the issue .I personaly think that Mrs. Clinton has more experiace than Mr. Obama. She has been First Lady for 8yrs. in the past and I think she would do a good job in the White House as President. She also has the help of Mr. Clinton who as everyone else do'es he's not a dummy he know's whats going on together something might get done about our econamy. God know's we need the help. You never know what might happen we might get the fuel prices lowered enough so people can afford to get around.
