Trucking Company In Violation Before Crash

FALMOUTH, Ky. (AP) - A trucking company that was involved in a
school bus crash that killed one student and injured 12 people has
violated federal and state safety regulations, a newspaper
reported.

A review by the Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement agency found eight
safety violations for XXL Trucking, according to The Kentucky
Enquirer. Three violations for the West Liberty-based company were
labeled critical and included drivers failing to keep time sheets
or records of duty status. Also, none of the four trucks was
periodically inspected.

The vehicle enforcement agency conducts safety reviews when a
company is involved in a fatal crash.

On May 1, a dump truck owned by XXL Trucking crashed into a
school bus near Falmouth. Sixteen-year-old Daniel Wood was killed.
Also, 10 students and both drivers were injured.

XXL Trucking owner Danny Ray Fannin told the agency that he was
unaware of the alleged violations and would correct them. He said
he had created the company for his son under the name M&S Trucking
but took control of it because of mismanagement and renamed it XXL
Trucking. It had been in operation under that name for less than a
month at the time of the crash.

No criminal charges have been filed in the crash.

The accident report has not been made public. Pendleton County
Sheriff Craig Peoples said he's still awaiting accident
reconstruction information from Kentucky State Police.

Wood's family has filed a lawsuit alleging negligence by the
trucking company and the dump truck driver.

KVE like any other Police agency can't be everywhere at every time. Even if they were not doing their job by enforcing the KRS, as they were sworn to do Kentucky is an awful big place and KVE can't be everywhere. Sounds like you just have a gripe with KVE and this gave you the fuel to spout your disgust or hatred for them. Get down of your soapbox. If you think it is sooooo easy I invite you to give it a whirl.
