State Auditor Says Thousands of Dollars Could Be Missing From A Mayor's Office

State Auditor Crit Luallen says more than $21,000 could be missing from the mayor's office in Loyall.

Luallen says Mayor Clarence Longworth and others noticed problems while reviewing city financial records shortly after taking office in January, 2007.

In reviewing records between 2004 and 2006 officials found city funds documented on receipt tickets were not deposited in city bank accounts.

The findings were given to the attorney general's office to determine if the issue needs to be investigated further.
