Store Video Offers Possible Clue In Missing Man Case

Nancy Sparkman has spent the last two weeks looking for her father. But until Wednesday, she had no idea what happened to him after he left his Floyd county home. But now she says surveillance video proves he made it at least to London.

“He was going into the store. Going up to the counter to the cash register to pay for his gas. And then he turned around and left,” says Sparkman.

The surveillance video, taken just before 9 p.m. on May 15th at the London McDonalds/Chevron Food Mart, shows a man in a purple shirt going up the register. Sparkman says her father has a purple shirt and mannerisms matching that of the man in the video.

“Now we have a starting point to where we can start looking for him,” she says.

But just where her father is... between London...and her home in not clear.

“I really don't know. We just want answers of what happened. We just really want to know if he's still alive....or deceased,” says Sparkman.

Sparkman drives a black S-10 pickup. He's 62 years old but his daughter says he's still in good health.

“I don't know what happened. There's a lot of stuff that runs through your mind of possible chances of what could have happened. We just want to know where he's at so we can bring him home.”

I would also like to thank everyone for helping in the search of Sampie. We are so far away and can't really do much other than pray. Sampie is such a good hearted person and would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. I just hope and pray that his acts of kindness didn't lead him into some sort of foul play. I know it would be nothing for Sampie to pick up a hitchhiker and take that person where they needed to go, because thats the Sampie we all know and love, always helping out others even if he didn't know them. This Thurs. June 19th will be 5 weeks of him being missing and his family sick with worry, all of the what if this may have happened or that may have happened are still with us, the not knowing is still hanging over our hearts. I know that God has a plan for everyone of us, but I just can't wrap my mind and heart around the idea that this is God's plan for Sampie. If anyone has any information please call the proper authorities. Thank you, God Bless.

I know the family and I've been following this case from Day 1 and it's a terrible thing. Sampie is a great person and I hope they find him alive. I'll keep praying.
