Accident At A Mine Site Leaves One Dead

An eastern Kentucky man is dead after he was hit by a tree.

Just before two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, mine officials say William Hill was clearing trees at the Myra Coal Mine when the tree he was cutting fell on him.

Hill worked for the Gopher Contacting Company out of Breathitt County.

Officials say he was clearing trees to prepare the land for mining.

Hill started working at the mine on May 27th.
