Second Victim In Shooting Was Remembered

Hundreds turned out for the funeral of Lew Allen Caudill, the second victim in last week's double murder suicide.

Caudill and Magistrate Jimmy Darrell Neace were gunned down in a the parking lot of a Perry County convenience store.

Family and friends gathered to say their goodbyes and reflect on memories of a man they say was patriotic and put others before himself.

“Just growing up with him and playing in the mountains. Fishing, hunting and going to family reunions...just having a good time,” Clyde Caudill said.

“He was just always friendly and so nice. He always met you with a hug and not matter what you needed him to do, he was always there for you if you asked,” Shirley Slaven said.

Caudill was 60 years old

Police say they may never know what caused Jerry Fugate to kill Neace and Caudill before turning the gun on himself.
