Casino Drive Scratched From Belmont

BELMONT, N.Y. -- The Louisville Courier-Journal reports in its Saturday edition that Casino Drive has been scratched from today's Belmont Stakes in New York, said Nobutoshi Mochizuki, senior manager for the Japan Racing Association.

Mochizuki said Casino Drive galloped this morning and seemed fine but became sore on his left hind foot when he was walking back at the barn. His scratch leaves a field of nine with unbeaten Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown, a prohibitive favorite to complete the Triple Crown sweep, reports The Louisville Courier-Journal.
