It's been a little more than a month since Nicholasville man Mark Dunn was murdered. "He was found in the back of his pickup truck, burned beyond recognition," describes friend Gwen Brown.

The memory and pain of the da Dunn's friends learned of his death is still fresh in their hearts and minds, especially since the killer is still out there. So far, no witnesses have come forward in the case, even with the promise of reward money. "Somebody's got to know something out there," says Dunn's friend Brenda Watters.

In hopes of getting someone to come forward and speak out, Watter and Brown want to significantly raise the amount of reward money for information leading to an arrest.

Their plan is hold an fundraiser at Squire's Tavern in Lexington. The event, scheduled for Saturday June 14th, will feature: a bike show, free food, karaoke, a raffle, auction, and kissing booth.

They will also be selling t-shirts that feature a picture of Mark Dunn. The proceeds of those shirts will go to the reward fund. The remainder of the proceeds will aid Dunn's widow.

I was reading this and I am not sure if anyone contaced the people who ask about Tshirts. I still have them. They are 12 and 16 dollars (1x 2x and 3X) I don't have many on the x sizes. You can contact me at if you would like a tshirt. Thank for caring!! Another benefit is being planned in Sept, it will be 2 - 5 bands and other things going on. It is in the early stages, we have a good friend (that was part of mine and Marks "gang", She emailed me and wants to do this. GOOD music will be there. THIS WILL BE FOR THE REWARD FUND. I hope we catch them before then and if so we may just do it anyway just for the heck of it and give the money to charity. Just so you will know, I am doing ok. Taking one day at a time. I have been wounded by some comments but I have survived! I love Mark. We would have celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary on June 24. I miss my husband and best friend!! I can not figure it our so I gave it to God to work it out!!

Thanks for that! I wasn't really offended by your comment, just that we have heard so much garbage I didn't want it started again. I agree 100% about the SOB that did this. I am sorry about your friend, I know you know first hand how something like this makes you feel. Hopefully you will make it out Saturday to the event as well.

I reiterated what I first said because I didn't want anyone to get the wrong impression. The way Mark was murdered couldn't possibly have been by someone in their right mind. It was too gruesome. This person had to have no consciense at all. Usually, those types of murders are on drugs. It happend to a friend of mine in HS. She was at a house where a drug deal went bad and they killed her too just for being there. She begged them not to and they did anyway. (That was testified to at trial). I am very sorry for what happend to Mark and I pray for his family and loved one's. I also pray that they find the S.O.B. who did this regardless of the cicumstances. I think the benefit is a great idea. I apologize if offended anyone because that was not my intent at all.

If you contact one of the numbers listed at the bottom of the story you will get all the information you need about the shirts. Please come out Saturday night. Mark would have loved a gathering like, he would be one of the first to be there and support a family in this time of need. If you knew him or if you didn't, please come out! A community joining together will be a great comfort to the family. Just knowing that people that didn't even know him are concerned and have caring hearts! thank you so much!!

I hope I understand that you are not trying to say this is drug related. who's to say that he drove there himself? couldn't it be possible that he was driven there after the sick moster murdered him?
